This decision is unjustified and unfair. Canada is not a low-cost country dumping cabinets at artificially low prices. For over 40 years, Canadian manufacturers like Cabico&co have been respectful, fair-market competitors, bringing value and craftsmanship to U.S. partners. Even the American cabinet industry itself — through a letter fromAKCA to President Trump on September 19 — focused on low-cost imports from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Mexico. Canada wasn’t even mentioned.So why target Canada? Many in the U.S. industry are asking the same question. These tariffs don’t protect American jobs. Instead, they punish long-standing North American partners who have always played fair.
